Clutch and fly wheel

Just had the Passat in for a service and been told it’s probably time for a new clutch and fly wheel and they suspect my dual mass is now a home made single mass fly wheel
I’m expecting it to be a few hundred for the parts but ideally need to keep costs down if possible.
Noticed on dark side that a single mass fly wheel and clutch kit is less than a dual mass. What’s the pros and cons of each?

It’ll be for an awx 6 speed.
