Clutch pedal judder

I`ve started to notice my clutch pedal is juddering when I take off in 1st gear.
Car has 177k miles and I`ve had it for 2.5 years.Plenty of receipts and history with it but no mention of a clucth replacement anywhere although I`m sure it must have been replaced at some stage.
2005 AWX TDI.
No signs of clutch slipping and car stalls when I try to take off in gear with handbrake on.
Any ideas?
