B5.5, 2002, 20v Petrol Cambelt...Date Stamp?

Anyone know if it is possible to inspect the Cambelt to see if it has a date of mnufacture on it?

I had the Cambelt changed on my daily car, Hyundai Tucson, and the mechanic said that the old belt had a date stamp on it.

I don't have confirmation of when the last Change was done on my Passat, surely ALL cambelts should have date of manufacture stamped on them it seems so logical?
