Noisy climatronic after re-gas?

We got our aircon regassed last week for the first time since buying the car. We have owned the car for about four years so it was well overdue. Booked it into a NorAuto garage in Limoges and waited an hour whilst it was done. No problems recorded and nice cold air again. Anyway after a few days of use the aircon has started making a lot of noise when it is engaged? If we switch the Climatronic to ECON (compressor disabled) mode the noise goes? It is like a loud whirring noise followed by a tapping noise? Any thoughts people? Have they buggered it up? We plan to take it back for a check over, but we are afraid to use it as it sounds awful.
