2001 PD 130 auto juddery gearchange

Post by phy8dop »

I have had a problem with my auto Passat for a couple of weeks. For the first couple of mins when cold it is juddering when pulling away and changing from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd etc. Once warm the juddering goes away and it runs normally. if the juddering is quite bad the ESP light comes on, if the juddering is mild then sometimes the light doesnt come on.

I've just done a scan on VAG-COM (printout below). I have the same code 18265 on the Auto transmission and the ABS. The problem when googling is that this code seems to be a generic one that can be attributed to many areas of the car. I'm struggling to find one in relation to the auto gearbox. Any ideas?!
