I don't know whether this qualifies as a confession or a revelation. I have always thought my mpg was poor, and in a recent post about winter mpg, I was saying I was down to around 400 -420 mpg. Well this last 2 weeks whilst I have been waiting to change my gearbox I have been gentle with the box going through the gears, it has all been town driving apart from today with about 60 miles motorway driving within about 15% of the legal limit 
I am on 393miles on the trip, and the display says I have 125miles to empty! that would be around 520 miles to a tank!!! Never been near that, so you know what that means? When I replace the box, I will be down to 400 miles a tank
