lumpy misfire / vibration injector harness?

Hi. I've got a 1.9tdi with 270k on the clock. Generally runs quite well. Its just come back from MOT and an oil change. I noticed on my next trip to work that it became quite rough above 2000rpm. In fact I think its a bit rough at all revs, but just more noticeable as you push the loud pedal.
I don't think its turbo related as it hasn't gone into limp mode.
I've scanned the fault codes on vag com and nothing is coming up.
My suspicion is that it could be the injector loom, but its not giving any fault codes. I had this on my old passat and it gave an injector error code. Does injector loom always give a fault code?
