tandem pump fuel leak?

This is actually a fault on a colleagues 2002 Audi a6 AWX.

Struggling to start when stood especially overnight and having replaced the blown starter motor and seeing the diesel all round the gearbox had a quick look. When it does eventually fire up there is a steady leak from what I guess is from the tandem pump and drop onto the cts wiring multiplug!

Not had any first hand dealings with these myself but would anyone know if it's the pump itself or the seal most likely culprit??
