hi all and happy new year to you all!.just a quick question ive been quietly modifying my car over the last year or so its an 2004 1.9tdi awx passat and have currently got it up to 188bhp with a bv43 turbo, fmic and remap.now i know the torque figures are at the limit for what this clutch can take and if i give it the beans for any extended amount of time it will start to slip even though this is a brand new luk clutch and dmf.
my gearbox is a 5spd and the clutch is 228mm ,so i was looking to put in the 6spd clutch instead, which is larger at 240mm i understand about the change of starter and so on, but correct me if im wrong should it all just fit in ok after that or are there other height/depth differences ???? short of replacing the gearbox for the 6 spd unit and subframe etc?
is bigger better?
