1.9TDI 5speed AWX
I know they should be done at the same time. I'm fairly certain my clutch is alright (no slip, just get occasionally very violent vibration/knocking when pulling away).
I got a quote from mrclutch for £376 for clutch only," and if required" dmf adds £413, total £789. It sounds reasonable I know it's a lot of work under the car, but I was under the impression the clutch and DMF sat side by side, the DMF part should cost maybe £150? So does it take many hours more to swap out the DMF after the transmission is opened up?
I had the clutch & dmf done by a specialist about 40k/9years ago (I do very few miles recently). I don't feel like the clutch plate should be knackered. I'm sure I've just worn the DMF by accelerating from low RPM's and being overconfident with the torque of the engine. Of course once they open it up I won't know what parts are worn and they'll likely say the whole should be replaced...
How much extra work is it to fit a DMF vs Clutch only?
