How to instal the engine air filter the correct way up?
HAYNES MANUAL 3917 page 1A.11 states
"2.Remove the air cleaner filter element, noting which way round it is fitted (see illustration).
3. ... fit the new air filter, making sure it is the correct way round."
Trouble is it may have been previously installed the wrong way round and also their "illustration 25.2" is so poor it does not help.
Is there a good picture or similar info on any web site?
PS Maybe a good design would make it impossible to fit things the wrong way round?
