Oil consumption!?! Advice needed

Hi all,
Need a quick bit of advice please. My 2005 1.9 tdi 100bhp has started to use some oil. The oil light came on so topped it up sorted......... then 2 weeks later same again topped up and a few days later it did the same I put about half a litre in each time.
There doesn't appear to be any oil leaks on the drive and no difference in power. I haven't had time to investigate at all yet but a quick look on net and similar symptoms point to turbo or egr? And advice on where to check would be greatly appreciated
