V71 air flow flap positioning motor.....

Post by janski »

Ey up lovely people!

Fixed the climatronic, only for it to stop working a week later

VAGCOM'd it and throws up V71 air flow flap positioning motor. Did my research which isn't too clear or complete or unless I'm not very lucky and didn't find it. Not come across anything that is relevant apart from taking the whole dash out, BUT, online speak is it is possible to replace it without doing so. But not too many pictures and the ones that have a half decent write up are left hand drive passats, thus more than likely useless, But I stand to be corrected.

I looked at this thread...http://www.passatworld.com/forums/b5-ga ... moval.html

Anyhoo, first things first, I'm presuming I'm in the right area, see piccie below. Which one is the motor in question?

Red or blue....or am I looking up the wrong tree? FYI - piccie taken where the Glove box is out, and this is on top of the tunnel under the dash.

Can it be replaced without dash out or read up that the flap it operates can be made to be stuck open.....is this the one under the pollen filter?

FYI - 2005 B5.5 Highline 130PD TDi AWX
