Not the best way to start my first post on here.
I have owned a 55 plate B5.5 Highline estate for about two months and had no trouble at all. The car is on 124,000 and the previous and only mature owner said he got the car mapped just for a wee bit extra bhp. He reckoned about 160-170 ish.
Took the car out today and literally went from first gear to second gear then accelerated and the car went into limp home mode and when looking in the mirror there is white smoke all over the place. I couldn't see and thankfully I had not cut in front of any cars.
Looking in the engine bay it looks like the turbo has come away slightly from the exhaust and I can see the gauze which I am sure I couldn't see before.
Where do I go from here?
Are turbo's expensive?
Easy job for someone mechanically minded?
I have asked two of my brothers who were ex Audi mechanics but not heard back yet.
Has my turbo gone?
