2.5 v6 tdi exhaust question

I'm having trouble finding a replacement exhaust for my 2.5 v6 TDI without spending WAAAY too much.

The flexi and front pipe are perfectly fine but the previous owner has basically welded some scaffy bar to the frontpipe (no boxes at all).

I'm wondering that since I have the manifold, flexi and frontpipe, would there be any difference in buying a 1.9tdi exhaust/backbox/etc (such as this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-PASSAT-1-9 ... SwdGFY1EEh ) or something similar?

Would I lose power or would it cause any damage? Would it even fit at all? I can't find a diagram of the previous exhaust to compare it to and I don't actually have the old exhaust because of the previous owner.

I could go the stainless route but the cost at the moment is too high.

Would I be able to buy that exhaust or one similar and sleeve it over my frontpipe?
