KEY FOB

Hi i have a 52 plate 5 door 1.9 tdi passat estate. I had a problem recently where the rear drivers side door wouldnt open or unlock from inside or out or when fob was pressed. I took the door to bits and even unbolted the hinges and finally managed to release the door. Then another problem, since removing the mechanism my alarm wouldn't stop going off and central locking + electric windows where dead. I have ordered a new mechanism but until then i have wedged a screwdriver inside the door to keep it closed. I have now managed to get the central locking and windows working it was just a fuse but now my fob doesn't work any ideas? Thanks
