Remove A-pillar trim on B5.5 (airbag)

Morning all, I'm awaiting the postman who's bringing me a ticket holder from Sharpshooter, hopefully he'll be here this morning.
I've searched on the internet and checked in Haynes about removing the trim from the driver side A-pillar. On the B5.5 this covers an airbag. I haven't been able to find any info on doing this without buggering up the airbag. I've looked in a few build threads on here too, but no joy.
Is it fairly straightforward? Is it just a case of disconnecting the battery, leave it for half an hour, peel back the door seal and prise off the trim panel?
