Removing the tailgate/bootlid on an estate

Hi all

Changing the tailgate on my B5 estate
It's had with 4 bolts on the hinges.... So that's easy
But how do I disconnect electrics?

I've got the interior trim removed.
Haynes says undo all connector to wiper motor etc
But then forgets to mention you'd then need to pull it all through the tailgate to leave it on the car?
And do the same on reinstallation.....

Are there connectors on the car side I can just undo?

That would be easiest!!
