Shallow Sump minus the oil level sensor?

I have just cracked my sump and Intend to order this Hybrid shallow sump...

I had a mate had one on his golf and he kept singing it praises...

I have a 2002 B5.5 TDI PD130 Sport

My query is about the lack of oil level sensor??

Apparently, ''The sump does not have an Oil Level Sensor, so this will need to be coded out using VCDS''

Is VCDS VagCom?

And: does anyone have suitable Coding equiptment around the S.Wales area without intending to charge an arm and a leg?

Alternatively.. could I replace the Sensor with a resister or is my car too new for that? lol
