Turbo loss/limp mode but no fault code!

As above, driving the car today (TDI 100ps PD), went to accelerate and then experienced limp mode. Switched off and re-started and all is fine (so to my mind rules out the air flow meter). The odd thing is no fault code has been logged - any ideas?
