Disable Parking Sensor?

Hi all,

Have a B5.5 TDI sport with the standard reverse / parking sensors fitted, but fitted a towbar this afternoon. The sensors are seeing the towbar and obviously going off. Is there a way of turning one of them off (the middle left one) or is there a way of turning them off completely? Tried unplugging one but it came up with the high pitched error sound...
