01268 quantity adjuster intermittent???

my b5 97 tdi idles really badly my dads mate put it on diagnostics and 01268 quantity adjuster intermittent came up? any ideas what it is, were it is? and what it does??? lol and could this be the problem? thanks in advance he didn't have his code book so got to wait until tomorrow until he finds out what it means
