Was on the M6 yesterday and got a chronic steering vibration - was so bad I pulled over and called the RAC.
RAC came out - checked tyres for "eggs" and they were fine, got me off the motorway and then test drove the car and everything seemed fine again.
Just leaving J14 of the M1 this morning and the vibration reappeared, pulled over again and checked but nothing obvious was wrong.
Car tracks perfectly OK, vibration has disappeared again but there is an intermittent "clonk" and something akin to a scraping sound when setting off but again its intermittent.
Got the car booked in to be looked at on Tuesday - I'm thinking a worn ball joint or something similar but the fact that the problem is intermittent is puzzling me.
Any ideas?
