Temp Gauge weirdness!!!! and Turbo acting up as well

Ok, I fitted my new sensor, and to my disgust the temp gauge still reads barely just above zero, that is until you turn the car of and let it sit for a while, then the gauge goes up a little.

Any ideas?

Also after a short ten mile run last night, I looked under the bonnet to see if the sensor was leaking, and saw the turbo was glowing orange, I've seen it do that after a long run, but never only ten miles, or is it normal? I have a suspicion my MAF my be on its way as occasionally the car has developed a slight flat spot

Any ideas on that too?
