1.8t Rattle

Hi all,
My 1.8t (2001 AWT code) has started to rattle, it sounds as though only on low revs - 1500-2500 ish, mainly if going uphill. At the moment the oil is running low which has been traced to the cam cover seal which is leaking oil at the front of the engine. Any ideas what could be making the noise?
