Oil light!!!

Hi guys,
My Oil warning light has come on (amber not red!!!) so I checked my oil level. It was a bit low so I have topped up but light is still on!! Get the "Check oil level" warning on startup which is really bugging!!! I have read several articles which say it could be the sender, some say the oil pump might be failing and one said just disconnect the battery for a while and all will be fine!!! Any one else come across before I start worrying about looking for replacement parts!!
