Fuel economy from v6 4motion

Just wondered what anybody else is getting from their v6 petrol engine ? mine is the estate auto,as I`m only getting around 17-20 round the doors and 28-30 on a run and thats driving it very carefully! Wondered if this was normal or if It may need tunning/serviced?
