Just checked out my rear light which had loads of condensation inside. The outer, clear, cover is cracked at the top so water is leaking in. Looks like it only gets inside the outer cover but over time it'll rust up anything inside as well so I need to fix/replace it. 3 ways to go: 1) new light from VW (*probably* far too expensive though I will ask!), 2) breakers so will ring about or 3) fix the one I have.
I'd be incvlined to go 3) BUT that presupposes that I can get the outer cover off and then glue it back on. Has anyone done this? It looks like it could be possible with care and a razor blade .... If anyone has done this, what sort of glue did you use to stick it back? I'd be looking at araldite as a first try.
Comments/experiences welcome!
