Drivers seat wont adjust

Hi
The seat adjustment lever on the drivers side is floppy where as the passenger side has some tension to it. any ideas before i investigate at the weekend?

ps the os seat only locks in a certain position but is too far away for the missus, otherwise it just slides back and forth
