Had my keys in overall pocket whilst working to deal with the 5+ litres of water under the carpet and broke the part that attaches to a keyring.
Bought new keyfob, swapped key and PCB into new fob (with a little modification). Central locking/unlocking works ok, but engine start produces "IMMOBIL ACTIVATED" and a yellow car with a key flashes on the dashboard. Engine runs for 3 seconds before stopping.
My other original keyfob works without issues.
Vehicle: Passat Estate S 20V 2002.
Anyone know what is required to allow the key to work normally?
