Noisy drivers seat pan

Just looking for a bit of basic info on the drivers seat pan till I get time to have a look.

Basically mine makes unfortunate noises a sort of metallic creaking noise when I move about in the seat seemingly from the seat pan.

So is this common and whats the fix? is it a metal seat pan or some kind of hammock secured by clips?
