Interior/puddle light not coming on - passenger door

I have just replaced the passenger side rear door lock/actuator on our 1999 TDI Wagon with a new pattern item off Ebay. Before I replaced it the central locking was not opening this door but all the others were opening fine.

All the doors now open and lock fine using the key fob!! :-bd

However I still have a problem when the front passenger door is opened! The lock works fine, but when the door is opened neither the puddle light or the front courtesy light above the rear view mirror light up?

Does this mean I have another faulty door lock/actuator in the front passenger door. As I say the lock works fine, so what is causing the issue and can I repair it?
