Hi Guys,
I have done a search of the forum to try and find the answer to my question but have not really come up with one that deals with the issues I have.
I have recently purchased a 2000 B5 passat and it only had one key with it.
I picked up an old key fob and have re-cased it and fitted a new battery.
In the hand book and on line there are procedures for linking the fob to the car to lock / unlock doors and i belive that it will need programming to link it to the immobiliser.
I had the new blank cut yesterday and had a go at the linking but absolutly nothing happened
No horn beep no nothing in fact.... the central locking etc works great when i put the key in the lock and do it manually.
my questions are:
1) Can you use a fob from another car (1999 B5 Passat)
2) What is the correct procedure for a 2000 B5
3) Do i need new and unused circuit board for the fob
4) Were all late B5's fitted with remote central locking
Any help or guidance would be appreciated as its puzzling me at the moment...
Thanks
Stu
