Got my annual anxiety ridden MOT on Thursday.
My headlights were very hazy, bought the 3m restoration kit (not used yet) and thought I'd try the toothpaste method (as lost my drill).
Went to Tesco and bought the cheap stuff and Colgate Cavity Protection. I first used the Cheap Tesco stuff didn't do too bad, but wanted it clearer, so I used the Premium ghetto headlight restoration Colgate, and made a very big difference!
It got rid of the yellowing on the lense and most of the roughness. They failed the MOT last year, but the garage polished them out for about £5 and passed then, but didn't last the year.
I heard this may just come back, but if it's enough to pass an MOT then I don't care, plus 5 mins of toothpaste every few months won't bother me, I suppose I can buy some UV protectant stuff, C4 I think is the best? Not the explosive stuff either, anyway....
Before
It's a shame the toothpaste doesn't do the same job on my teeth!
After
Headlight haze + toothpaste
