B4 aek gearbox options

Hi all greetings from a fellow owner of a 35i wagon for around 11 years now and counting
Now on to the question, it's time to renew the gearbox, because of some bad noises so the question is does a 2E gearbox fits?
Is there some Syncro gearboxes that fit an AEK?
Couldn't found an exact answer so will be pleased if someone knows in here.
Just trying to find out what gearbox I could use. Maybe an AFT is a straight fit but what about for the other engines? Newer or older, maybe an Audi engine?
