B4 rear door wiring looms
Are b4 rear door wiring looms interchangeable between sides? I've just put a rear passenger side loom in the rear drivers side door...all works apart from the electric window switch. I assume the main connector went in ok it's all Good?
Re: B4 rear door wiring looms
(Based on a 1996 model)..
Both sides have the same part number so are interchangeable....
HOWEVER...
There are two different part numbers which change at a chassis number. This may or may not explain your situation.
In order to check whether you havre the right loom you will need to quote the VIN (and year) of the donor car and your car to see if both fall into the same range.
Have you checked the wires where they pass between the door and the car's body? - they can fracture here with movement of the door and it is possible for the wires to fracture within the insulation, so they look OK but are not. Stretch each wire at the point it flexes when the door is opened and closed... if any of the wires stretch the conductors have fractured internally and need to be spliced or soldered and re-insulated.
