Low Coolant and wet foot well.. Coincidence? Or

Post by Legatron »

Hi all, the passat estate has seen standing for a month. I've been starting and running it for a while every weekend bit this weekend I noticed a wet foot well on passenger front AND rear. Gutted. The signs were there with heavy condensation on the inside of windscreen.
Front seats out,
Rear carpet out
Front carpets lifted and multiple towels added.

Now... I recently changed the water pump with full coolant flush. I rant it through after and topped dot up and confident it was topped off properly yet it is below the minimum level.

I've read numerous threads on here about leaks but nothing about a dodgy, leaky matrix. Is Is this a problem?

The drain holes by the Ecu are OK, do I need to check the area behind that where the windscreen wipers are? I've also noticed the windscreen seal looks a little dodgy on the inside above the dash too.

So many ways to approach this... Any thoughts?

Thanks all
