1.8 turbo swap

Evening guys, i have a 96 b4 estate with a 1.9tdi which ill be using for a while but want to swap the tdi for 1.8t power at some point (after saving and buying bits needed).
What is best engine to use out of all the various 1.8t out there and What else will be needed like gearbox, looms and mounts etc
As the passat is ce2 electric i take it a lot of it will be plug and play or am i wrong.
As ive not found much on a B4 1.8t swap would looking into golf mk3 swap be useful as they are pretty much similar in the engine bay
