Stumbled across this site when looking at debadged passats on google images and have a minor issue with my own so thought I'd post here
I Turned 17 and bought my first car a few months ago; Its a black 1998 passat 1.9tdi 110 with 97k on the clock.
The car is pretty solid and overall I'm happy with it although recently the rear left electric window is no longer working. It was occasionally temperamental before it stopped completely and sometimes you would need to open and shut the door to get it to work. When you turn the lights on the light on the window button lights up, but when you press the button or use the controls up front for the window the light goes out.
Could this be a loose connection? Also do i have to pop the door card off to access it?
