A couple of months ago my 2004 highline 130 estate(auto diesel) came up with the warning noise and dash message OIL PRESSURE STOP !!!. It appeared to be driving well .I took it to a local garage and they diagnosed a faulty oil pressure switch, a cheap fix. Two weeks later it went again and they replaced the switch, which was not and is still not genuine VAG. All has been fine for nearly 12 weeks, but it started intermittently giving the warning again. Returned to the garage and they claimed the switch was ok but the car was given an oil flush and oil and filter change as it was a "little sludged up" in their words ( it is due a service in 2.5k) .Yesterday within 10 miles driving the warning came on within 2 minutes of driving and now stays on. I must stress the oil level is ok and the car is driving perfectly.
Could it just be that they have used a cheap aftermarket switch ?
Any help appreciated .... Monkey : :
