Drivers Window Problem

Can anyone help me with a bit of a problem on my B3 estate please.
The drivers window only lowers around an inch and then it's almost as if it falls off it's runners and gets jammed, using both hands you can lower it but it takes and age to get it back up again.
Is this a common problem and is it easy-ish to sort?
Knowing my luck, it's probably not
It has manual windows by the way.
