Hi there I'm looking to put the standard suspension back on my B3 and need the following parts to be able to fit the front springs to the struts which are the metal seats / hats that hold the springs in place. Dont know technical name. If you also have the nuts that hold them in place that would be useful along with the gaiters
Cheers

early or late type? (single or 2 part topmount as the nuts / fastenings differ - tube-nuts early & hex-nuts late?) also, the spring top-caps may differ depending on age but I cannot remember if this is B3/4 Passat or mk1/2 golf related

you sure that's all you want? can do complete struts etc.? also got a new pair of early topmounts in the workshop (will have a looksee to check)

I've broken ~9x B4's & 1x B3 so plenty of mecanical parts, trim clips, fasteners and some trim parts (most of a B3's grey plastics & probably 5x unbroken B4 dashboard facia's (radio & cluster), B4 electric window mec's with motors, switches etc.
B4 Bumpers, B3 front bumper skin, pair of good B4 front wings, rear axles (disc & drum) and front suspension crossmembers (B3 standard mounts & B4 tdi HD mounts), fuel tanks (petrol - injection & diesel) also a few B4 aircon kits with all pipework etc.

I'm just keeping spares for my pair of B3tdi wagons B-)

Think the top mounts on a B4 are the same as a MK3 golf in that they are smaller but I think the metal cap that holds the spring to the strut are the same, they all use pig tailed springs. Ive got all four legs and I can use my top mounts I have on the coilies it that rest of the bits i need

right-e-ho, Killed my mackbook & lost password etc. so been off here for a while....

I'm NOT selling B3 panels.

I have a B4 rear hatch in red, can be altered to fit a B3 (key-lock position)

have exterior trim stuff.

have a heater assy from a '93 car & a few aircon setups.

NO b3 dash plastics (need a centre section for one of my cars @-) ) BUT have several undamaged B4 radio-housings (supposedly rare some years ago?).

Hi Rich, unless I can repair it, I will probably need a drivers door for my 1991 B3 as the internal window guides are bent/distorted and I don't know how to gain access even though I have stripped all the handles, manual window regulator etc etc . So do you have one available (red if possible) ?
Cheers

Thanks Maclee, much appreciated.

I had a look at the door and could see the two bolt heads. So I will have a go at removing the guide at the weekend, weather permitting. Wish me luck.

Regards,

Bill

I managed to remove the guide although it didn't want to come out! I could see that the soft insert to the channel had come adrift, so I repaired that, as well as a couple of minor distorted edges to the channel.

I had to reinstate the glass into the lifter rail as it wasn't located correctly but I used the silicon method again as I never bought the sash clamps.

I wound up the window and left the silicon to set for a couple of days but this morning I took the plunge and lowered it successfully and raised it again a couple of times, so thanks for the advice on accessing the guide rails which saved the cost of a replacement door! :-bd
