finally took a good look at the belts and it looks like the alternator belt is a little bit slack compared to the one on my mk3 golf....so the noise is most likely coming from that belt and whatever is on it...
is it my mistake or is the water pump on this belt as well?
anyways how do i go about tightening this up so it doesn't fall off....once the car has warmed up and driven for awhile then the noise appears to die down...
on startup it makes a bit of a groan when i accellerate...but this does not last... thought it was the oil level being low...bu that appears to be ok....
still not sure that is the problem...but want to try and sort this before the mot at the end of January..any advice would be appreciated....
alterator belt is loose...or at least is slack
