B3>>Coilovers or shocks with lowering springs? Advice

So I've got my B3 collecting on Wednesday and the first thing I want to do is drop her slightly.
I know everyone says TaTechnix coilovers are good but I have also seen online sport shocks and lowering spring packages, are both as easy fit as each other? what is better? I'm not really worried about adjusting height although having the option may be good. Re the spring package it says either 40/40 or 40/60 sorry to sound dumb but what does this mean and what is best for a B3 estate that gets used on country lanes more than A roads?
