b5 estates have the half red half clear one (not crystal ones)

you mean M3 style?i had a set on one of my mk2 golfs

the guy with the really clean white b5 estate (neil?!?) made his own set by half tinting a set of all clear rears
looked really good, i reckon do 3/4s red, and either the 3rd quarter up a clear strip, or the top 1/4 a clear strip

jony on here had a gen set on his but i dont know where he got them from (his were smoked and red)

i'd quite like the standard stylee but with led's. make the full top and bottom round sections side and brakelight instead of only the top half being brake then maybe make the indicators a circle around the top side/brakelight. then the reverse light could be where the standard indicator is and the foglight where the standard reverse light is (or vice verca)






another one would be skoda superb style setup but again, with led's.

think a deep red tint would look best, with reverse and fogs hidden in the large section somehow. was thinking of twin circles for these as per stock but looked odd.

am realy liking this be good if this sort of thing could be for B5 as well, also as an idea for an oem+ sort of thing how about some B5.5 style for the B5 as personally i like the 5.5 lights standard / maybe with a bit of tint to them ;)

I'd have thought for B5 you'd just crop the arc of the light to form an angle with the strips running horizontally across the top edge.

Should look good too.

This is my attemp at the maserati lights, I like the idea of being supplied a panel fill the void....either ready painted or primed?



Also all LED's would be cool as feck!

My personal opinion they look GASH! Too round for the rear end of the Passat.

I think the colour coded panel looks a bit too custom, and a red, smoked or clear infill would be a better option, plus looks better imo.

is ther egoing to be any input from the manufacturer regarding likelyhood of these ideas going further?

yes im working on that guys too , i have already emailed them and discussed it ,,,here soon

um just as a thought , with the masarati style , how bout having the unit as a full light but having the actual bulbs/led's light up in the masa style so say either a full tinted red or half crystal etc but the light leyout in behind different ?????

Just wondering if there was any more news to this idea ?????

These would be good if the clear bits were smoked and they were led.

one peice oem looking projector headlights for b5, proper like that b5.5 have with clear lenses at the front also with no cheap chrome look would be nice,would make them look a lot fresher

they do similar already mate theres a few one piece units for b5s smoked and none smoked

who does them ? ultra auto? ive never seen them...ive seen the one on ebay.com but they are for l/h/d ???

Got a reply from the suppliers who have said the below-

Regarding the rear lights, we are travelling to meet suppliers in April so will go through the options then. The issue will be quantities - especially if we design from scratch.

i cant see them having a problem in selling them as the whole passat community is calling for new tail lights lol, are there any final design ideas as yet ?????? and are they gonna be there for B5 and 5.5 from the off ????

I know what im going to do...keep my standard ones because everyone will buy the new ones!
