Just wanted to pick your brains on something,since i picked up my passat a few weeks ago theres been a clonk when i pull away and when i come to a halt,it also sometimes manifests itself when doing full lock turns both ways,this has been getting worse/louder the more i drive it so last night after work in the dark/rain i set about inspecting it as losing the steering halfway down the M5 isnt something i fancy the prospect of.
There seems to be a lot of play where the N/S Inner tie rod joins onto the rack..couldnt quite see which part it is so just thought id ask on here to see if theres anything thats common to fail before i start pulling it all apart..and hopefully someone to tell me i dont need a new rack
