been looking at the old girl tonight to see why she aint starting...
Problem started last night when driving along and she simply died! Wouldnt start since, ocassionally tries to fire up, but just constantly turns over.
in-line filter under the bonnet was dry; pulled the pipe of the mechanical pump on the side of the block and sucked fuel through no probs, so no blockage from the tank to the engine bay.
So my question is, is there only the one fuel pump on these 1983 cars, that being the mechanical pump on the engine? Are there any other electrical lift pumps in the tank etc that could have failed, or is the one pump in the engine bay in charge of the whole thing?
Many thanks for any mechanical advice.... would love to get her going at the weekend ( mainly as she is hogging the drive and a pain in the ass to push about lol.... )
