Been around a while but never got finger out to get a thread going but recent big job on my B6 led me to spend some time sorting it out and what I learnt, I hope to pass onto others.

This is what it looked like when I bought it a year or so ago.
I tidied up the paint a little.
- tailgate rust!
- added LED sidelights/numberplate lights
- also fitted VW plastic seat covers
- boot rubber mat
My first big job was with the help of Guyke and G-Black to do the Skyline mod.
So at night it looks like this:
I bought it with 108k on the clock. It is a 1.9TDi (BKC) estate.
Recently, around 120k miles, the 'worn camshaft' issue came to light....you can tell as the car turns over a few more seconds before firing up and now, once running it sounds like a bag of spanners.
