Post by passat turbo »

well ive been on here for a while and just moved house and got broadband so thought id put some pics of my car up, its a 98 1.8 turbo when i got it it had 12 months mot and 7 months tax got it for 500 quid bargain you might think but and its a big but it had a blown head gasket, striped it down with the help of my 2 little friends (sons)

cost me 110 quid to do the gasket and head skimmed, got it all back together and took it for a test drive, forgot to close the bonnet so it fliped up and bent it badly damm so new bonnet needed and a new screen but covered on insurance for that so its all good. The next day engine was ticking over sweet but running like poo no power at all and like it had kangaroo petrol so took it to my local vw specialist for diagnostics turned out to be coilpack 1 hall sender and air flow meter, sorted a coilpack from a nice guy on here very pleased with quick turnaround, got hall sender from scrappy and im getting a brand new air flow sensor from vw through my mate for 63quid all in, In the mean time im at collage doing a vehicle restoration course so i thought id do some work on the passat rear end, i didnt like the way it looks like a 2 piece bumper and didnt like the big trim bit in it so ive smoothed it all out
