I just bought my B4 estate on Thursday from a well known auction site.
I had 'fun' driving it home from Peterborough in the storms on Thursday night.....10 minutes in the wipers packed up.
Previous bodgy owner had tried to clamp the wiper linkages with a bungy cord, so lots of swearing and apologies to the convoying wife were in order, in the rainy dark, Northants....middle of nowhere type place.
It's cool though,...the engine is strong: the 2 litre petrol, but the body has terrible lacquer peel.
Short term, I'll be doing the obvious; cambelt, service,mend the air con and make sure it's reliable.
Then we'll be going to Scotland on holiday in it.
Long term, I have lots of plans, which will possibly change, but I'll be sorting the bodywork primarily as the intent is to show it as well as use it.
I've had lots of dubs, air and water cooled over the years, but this is my first Passat and I love it
